Today's ambitions were minor at best. I wanted to get up on time and make it on stage at church before we started running through the set. Today's ambitions were laid to rest when I walked into the garage and saw my car's very flat front tire. (Thankfully, I was only scheduled for choir, not mics.)
October's ambitions were going to include the purchase of new tires. October's ambitions were bumped up to July. So I skipped church, Becky helped me fix-a-flat and guided me to tire people she had researched when she bought her tires a few weeks ago, and then we hit the road, hoping and praying the entire way that the tire would hold long enough for us to arrive at our destination. Purchased tires today. Am happy that my car is happy. I guess.
Have not stopped to consider what this might mean financially. Will be fine. Hate spending money...always.
But I'm grateful. Truly grateful that it happened in the garage and not on the road, and it didn't leave me stranded or in peril, and it happened on a weekend when I didn't have to miss work to get my affairs settled.
God smiles on us in the strangest of circumstances.
