Why Sometimes George MacDonald's Books Make My Day Better

George MacDonald is a wonderful guy to read. Seriously, it's like combining literature with theology. Particularly Lilith, which I'm currently reading, makes me miss literature classes--it's that good. Anyway, here's the quote of the day:

"Please, king," said one, "I'm so afraid of being afraid!"

"My boy," I answered, "There is no harm in being afraid. The only harm is in doing what Fear tells you. Fear is not your master! Laugh in his face and he will run away."

I do love George MacDonald. He was such an amazing writer. I still haven't finished At the Back of the North Wind. Maybe someday I'll get to read it to the end.
